The fields are in full bloom at the KaBloom Festival of Flowers in Silvan, Victoria. Sensational displays of colourful sunflowers, lavender, snap dragons, begonias, dahlias and more. The festival is a photographer's dream with inspiration at every turn. But this isn't just a flower festival; there is plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Food trucks offer plenty of choice (more vendors present on weekends), including vegetarian and gluten free options. For those who prefer, you are welcome to bring your own picnic and picnic rug and dine amongst the flowers (no BYO alcohol and no BBQ facilities). It was great to see drinking water stations to refill water bottles at no cost located at various spots around the grounds. The little ones will be kept entertained, with roving performers; live kids entertainment; story telling; a petting zoo; craft activities; fairy garden; treasure hunt; garden games like totem tennis; face painting (additional fee); and tractor rides (additional fee). For the bigger kids, live music every day and a licensed bar on the weekends will be sure to please.
Importantly for us, dogs (on leash) are welcome at KaBloom Festival of Flowers. We visited on Good Friday and were pleased to see some other dogs enjoying a family day out too. The event is spread out over many acres so there is plenty of space if your dog is a little nervous around other people or dogs.
Keep in mind this is an outdoor event and the ground can get muddy. We recommend leaving your white converse at home...
You can skip the queue and pre-purchase your tickets here (Adults $25, Concession $22, Children under 16 are free) or purchase tickets at the gate.
We'd love to see some photos of your gorgeous pups enjoying the Festival - please feel welcome to post your photos in the comments.
We hope you enjoy a blooming good day!
